We invite you on a beautiful weekend retreat, to come and immerse yourself in nature and tap into your body of music.
You have within you a musical instrument of enormous potential: a body that can create rhythmic beats, a voice with an orchestra of sound and melody, and a mindheart with a lifetime of lyrics. Drawing upon teachings of master teachers like Bobby Mcferrin, and Rhiannon, and inspiration from the Body Music retreat in Brazil, we will be teaching the art of vocal improvisation as a catalyst for finding your unique voice and brand of musical expression - Your heart’s song.
Let the lush bush surroundings of the Blue Mountains, morning yoga, delicious vegetarian food, outdoor sauna and open fire inspire your music to rise!
By the end of the weekend you will feel nourished and will have learned improvisational singing, body percussion, freestyle wording and practiced playing with these forms within a group - creating spontaneous circle songs in the moment that express our unique human sound.
Music and nature will be our guides, as we deep dive together into an uplifting, transformative and healing journey to tap into your body of music.
The retreat will be held in Bilpin in the Blue mountains at an off the grid eco lodge, 1.5 hours from Sydney. The lodge is in a secluded nature setting surrounded by 30 acres of bush.
The lodge offers a beautiful and comfortable nature escape with open plan accommodation, an outdoor sauna, fire pit, dam, tree house, chicken coup and veggie patch! We promise, you are going to love it!
The retreat’s music workshops will be facilitated by Simon Jankelson who is an award winning musician, experienced and qualified music facilitator and trainer. Simon passion is music expression - he has inspired and taught thousands of people around the world to find their voices and share their song through The Human Sound Project. He has spoken on Channel 10, appeared at TEDx events, VIVID Sydney and was named on 40 UNDER 40’s list of future leaders of the Asia’s design industry.
